AlaCourt Access, or Just One Look, provides paid, on-demand access to Alabama state trial-court records one case at a time. Its public page lists criminal, civil, small claims, state traffic, domestic relations, and child-support records. A name search is useful when the case number is unknown. A case-number search is more precise when a pleading, ticket, indictment, petition, or clerk notice supplies the court identifier.

Choose the venue before paying for a search. Lee County Circuit and District Court matters generally use AlaCourt or Circuit Clerk Mary B. Roberson. Auburn Municipal Court and Opelika Municipal Court keep city traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, probation, bond, and warrant matters. Probate, guardianship, estate, adoption, commitment, and recording matters go to Lee County Probate. Custody and recent-arrest records maintained under Sheriff Jay Jones use sheriff searches, not the trial-court portal.

Lee County Record Search Fields

AlaCourt offers two public search routes and an account path. The exact first-name and last-name layout sits behind the account or checkout flow, so no field arrangement should be assumed beyond what the official public page confirms. AlaCourt 2.0 is a related subscription system. Returning subscribers use a Customer ID, User ID, and password rather than the one-case purchase flow.

Lee County Court Record Types

Circuit civil records can include complaints, answers, motions, orders, judgments, executions, garnishments, subpoenas, service returns, and case action summaries. District civil files cover lower-value disputes and unlawful-detainer actions. Small claims is a District Court division for disputes up to $6,000, and its files can show the case number, parties, amount claimed, service, hearing, judgment, and any appeal.

Criminal records divide by jurisdiction. Circuit criminal files hold felony cases with indictments, warrants, pleas, motions, rulings, sentences, restitution, fines, and costs. District criminal records cover misdemeanors, preliminary hearings, and lower-level criminal filings. Domestic relations files can contain divorce decrees, agreements, modifications, enforcement, support, income withholding, and protection-from-abuse matters. Court traffic records track a citation and case outcome, while an ALEA driver record tracks license history and administrative consequences.

What Lee County Records Show

AlaCourt says its case-detail report includes basic case information, court action, case status, setting dates, parties, financial history, and a detailed case action summary. Document images and attachments are sold separately. The Lee County copy form confirms that the clerk can search or copy signed orders, judgments, complete files, history checks, warrants, divorce decrees and agreements, pay histories, income withholding orders, garnishments, executions, indictments, and case action summaries.

Lee County Court Record Access

Alabama Code Section 36-12-40 gives Alabama citizens a right to inspect and copy public writings unless an exception applies. Section 36-12-43 addresses public-record procedures, reasonable fees, and protection of nonpublic information. For court files, the Circuit Clerk's copy form is more precise than the countywide records form because it lists judgments, orders, case action summaries, warrants, indictments, divorce decrees, and pay histories.

AlaCourt lists a $9.99 name search and a $9.99 case-number search. A no-match result still counts as a search. Online document images cost $5 for the first 20 pages and $0.50 per later page. The clerk's form charges $25 for 1-20 pages, $0.50 per added page, $5 for each certification, and $25 for paper, archived, closed-case, register, or history research. It says to allow at least seven working days.

Specific confidentiality laws and court orders can override the general right of access.

Restricted Lee County Court Records

Juvenile court records are confidential under Alabama Code Section 12-15-133. Adoption files are not routine public probate records. Mental health commitment cases contain sensitive medical facts. Sealed and expunged records are limited by court order, and public copies may redact private, confidential, privileged, and personally identifying information.

The Lee County expungement process requires the applicant to identify the exact charge or conviction. The CR-65 petition calls for a certified arrest record or certified disposition or case action summary, plus a certified ALEA criminal record. Alabama courts, not ALEA, grant relief. The local fee notice lists a $500 filing fee, and the clerk directory routes expungement questions to the e-warrants and expungements contact.

Request Lee County Court Copies

The Lee County Circuit Clerk accepts the Request for Copies and/or Searches of Court Records by delivery or mail at the T.K. Davis Justice Center. The form asks for requester contact information, criminal or civil case type, defendant name, charge, case number, date of birth, desired records, and certification choice. Fees are due when the request reaches the office. Credit cards and personal checks are not accepted. The office has Lee County Circuit and District records only, not municipal, federal, probate, or other-county files.

Bring or mail the most exact case details available. Select the needed item rather than asking for a vague search. The form offers a signed order, judgment, complete file, history check, warrant, divorce decree or agreement, pay history, income withholding order, garnishment or execution, indictment, and case action summary. For a criminal outcome, a certified disposition or case action summary may be more useful than a general online screen.

Division contacts provide another access channel. The clerk directory lists Circuit Criminal at (334) 737-3510, District Criminal and Traffic at (334) 737-3506, Circuit Civil at (334) 737-3513, Divorce, Child Support, and Protection from Abuse at (334) 737-3509, and District Civil and Evictions at (334) 737-3532. These numbers help route a record question to the staff who work with that case type. They do not expand public access to a sealed, juvenile, or otherwise confidential file.

For a municipal file, contact Auburn or Opelika Municipal Court. For an estate, guardianship, adoption, commitment, name change, or probate recording, contact Lee County Probate Court. The Circuit Clerk form expressly says it cannot provide federal, municipal, other-county, or outside records.
